Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan says the construction of a multi-purpose bridge or Tanah Abang Skybridge has reached 96 percent completion. Thus, he ensures the project will finish on November 23.

“[The project] is on the finishing stage, especially including the non-Transjakarta bus stop, vines, and other little constructions around the area,” Anies explains in the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, November 14, as reported by tempo.co

Anies assures the skybridge project thus far remains on the track or does not slip from the set date. However, he admits there are several issues regarding the completion of the construction with state-owned railway operator PT KAI.

Tanah Abang Skybridge is initiated by Anies in a bid to alleviate congestion in Jalan Jatibaru Raya, Tanah Abang. Other than functioning as a pedestrian bridge, the skybridge will accommodate 446 street vendors.

The construction of Tanah Abang Skybridge is expected to finish on October 15, which is then extended twice to October 31 and November 10. As of date, the project construction is still underway.
