Transport Minister Guarantees LRT Project to Finish as Targeted

Jakarta - The Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi confirmed that the construction of the Greater Jakarta light rapid transit (LRT) in the Jakarta-Cikampek lane and Jakarta-Bandung fast train will be finished according to the schedule at the end of 2019.
“Everything is still ongoing; the time has been set,” he said at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Tuesday, November 27, as reported by tempo.co.
Minister Budi has said that the temporary termination of LRT project construction only applied in certain areas. It was carried out due to severe congestion that occurred in the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section. He said the termination was only valid at kilometers 11 to km 17 for the next few months.
“We don't stop the whole thing,” the minister said.
Budi said that today he would hold a meeting with relevant stakeholders to discuss the continuation of the LRT project construction.
“I just want to say that what we are coordinating is to manage the time and space, for all stakeholders to provide tolerance without them changing the targets so that it can be done,” said Minister Budi.
