KEMENPUPR Efforts to Encourage National Food Sovereignty

JAKARTA - Indonesia as a country with a population of over 200 million people should be able to realize national food sovereignty in order not to rely on the supply of other countries. It received the full support of KEMENPUPR which encourages the establishment of the National Food Sovereignty by building infrastructure adequate food.

KEMENPUPR effort was delivered by the Head of the Regional Infrastructure Development (BPIW) of PUPR Ministry, Rido Matari Ichwan, on 'Inspiring Performax' session at the Berita Satu TV.

"In addition, there are also a variety of flood control programs, such as the normalization of rivers and construction of the spillway," Rido said, as reported from pu.go.id (12/01/2017).

To support the advancement of the agricultural sector, Rido explained that KEMENPUPR developing roads, bridges, as well as agro stops to make progress in the agricultural sector. KEMENPUPR applying the method of infrastructure development based on the region or Region Strategic Development (WPS). Currently, all areas of the country are clustered in 35 WPS

"In every way, WPS position has always been the backbone for the development of the region, including the agricultural sector. With the WPS approach PUPR infrastructure development always planned as an integrated and inter-connected region," said Rido.
