PUPR Ministry will Develop Settlement Infrastructure in Tourism Area

JAKARTA - The commitment of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in developing tourism potential has strong support from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), especially in organising and developing settlement infrastructure.
The support is contained in the Signing of the Joint Agreement (KSB) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the Provision of Infrastructure Support to KSPN in 7 National Strategic Tourism Areas (KSPN) Priority between PUPR Ministry, Tourism Ministry with local government which is included in 7 National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN), on Monday (29/5) at the Office of the PUPR Ministry, Jakarta.
The seven KSPN are Borobudur, Morotai, Labuan Bajo, Wakatobi and surrounding areas, Kepulauan Seribu and surrounding areas, Lake Toba and surrounding areas, and Bromo-Tengger-Semeru. Previously on May 23, 2017, PUPR Ministry has been signed 3 (three) KSB for KSPN South Coast Lombok and surrounding areas, Tanjung Kelayang, and Tanjung Lesung-Ujung Kulon.
In addition, they also held the signing of 2 (two) PKS for KSPN Labuan Bajo and surrounding areas, and 4 (four) PKS for KSPN Wakatobi and surrounding areas.
"This collective agreement is very important because in addition to the national strategic program, as well as the development of tourism that will become a new economic activity, the development of tourist attraction, and community empowerment in the tourism area," said Director General Cipta Karya Sri Hartoyo as reported from pu.go.id (30/5/2017).
