President Jokowi Inaugurate Raknamo Dam in NTT

KUPANG - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has just inaugurated the Raknamo Dam in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as well as the State Boundary Posts (PLBN) of Wini and Motamasin. Raknamo Dam has been built since December 20, 2014, with a budget of Rp 760 billion.

President Jokowi gave a positive appreciation for the success of dam construction in the period of 3 years, faster than the initial target of 5 years. This dam is located in Raknamo Village, Amabi Oefeto Sub-district, Kupang District, NTT.

"Today all the people of Kupang, the people of NTT must be happy, happy because of this Raknamo Dam that we are waiting for long ago will soon begin the process of filling the water," said President Jokowi as reported from setkab.go.id (10/1/2018).

According to President Jokowi, every time he goes to NTT he always sees the main problem in this province is actually only one if it can be solved, that is water. "If this can be solved in any corner of NTT, the prosperity, economic prosperity will surely rise," he said.

President Jokowi explained, this Raknamo Dam has a capacity of 14 million cubic meters. If this is dam already full, the first function is to provide raw water of 0,1 m2 per second. The second for irrigation of 1,250 hectares.
