Concerned with Building Safety, KEMENPUPR will cooperate with KOICA

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (KEMENPUPR) through Directorate General of Construction (DJBK) explore the cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) related to safety management construction especially high-rise buildings. It is presented by the Director General of Construction Yusid Toyib in the Capacity Development Workshop for Safety Management of the Public Facilities in Indonesia, Tuesday (6/12).
"For (the cooperation period) 2014-2016, is over on December 29, 2016, it's done how to view and inspect the bridges that have been there, the tools assisted by Korea, this was not a loan but a grant from them (Korea-red ), now all of that is for roads and bridges, in the future we are proposing to the safety of high-rise building construction, "said Yusid Toyib as reported from pu.go.id, today (07/12/2016).
On the occasion, Yusid explained that the infrastructure reliability was assessed by fulfilling one of the aspects of safety and also the maintenance aspects of construction. "The aspect of safety was not only reviewed at the time of construction but also during the period of utilization, maintenance and demolition of the infrastructure," said Yusid.
KEMENPUPR through DJBK previously has been cooperating with KOICA in the field of construction safety management training especially in the field of safety of building of roads and bridges. Country Director KOICA, Oh Ki Yun also expressed its positive response to the cooperation between the Ministry of PUPR and KOICA.
"We hope the cooperation between KOICA and the Ministry PUPR has been able to support knowledge transfer related infrastructure safety management systems in Indonesia," he said.
